Maia AprahamianMaia Aprahamian resides in Tiburon, California. She is an MA graduate of the Manhattan School of Music, and studied composition with Vittorio Giannini. Her works include opera, ballet, film scores, choral music, and music for children. Notable local performances of her works include a Grace Cathedral concert by Barry Tuckwell (French horn) and John Fenstermaker (organ) which was recorded by KKHI in 1983, Armenian Martyr’s Day, KPFA Morning Concert Special in 1992, and premieres of her works by the San Francisco Girls Chorus and Chanticleer, as well as the Choral Artists. Maia Aprahamian is the Choral Artists’ 2004 Composer in Residence. |
