PAST CONCERT – December 2021

December 2021 Out of Darkness

Darkness, stars, prayers, illumination… Our program for December explores themes of light and darkness – themes of the Christmas story, but also of our own time. The program includes Byrd‘s “O Magnum Mysterium,” Barber‘s “Twelfth Night,” and Poulenc‘s “Videntes stellam.” Also works by Bach, Kodály, Moses Hogan, Abbie Betinis and others, including Bay Area composers Maia Aprahamian, Herbert Bielewa, Brian Holmes and Roger Nixon.

This online-only concert offering was videotaped at San Francisco’s beautiful St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. Here’s a sample.
