What do nightingales, wretched lovers, and spinach in one’s teeth have in common? All will be part of our season finale! Sacred and profane, old and new, we offer music for the spiritual enhancement and entertainment of both royalty and regular folk.
Join us on the playground, in the woods, in secret back rooms, and in the exclusive courts of royalty — for music not meant for concerts. Instead, we’ll offer kids’ songs, music for afternoon walks, for forbidden private worship, and for nobility’s very exclusive entertainment.
And we are NOT just singing a cappella! We’ll be joined by nationally known harpsichordist Jillon Stoppels Dupree and cellist Paul Hale to offer not only Baroque, but also contemporary music for this combination. The program includes works by Bach, Handel, Schütz, Schumann and Mendelssohn, plus some Renaissance masters and three world premieres commissioned especially for this concert.
Hoping you’ll join us in San Francisco, Palo Alto or Oakland for beautiful, expressive, engaging singing—music that is by turns playful, moving, and sublime!
