SFCA Composer Submissions

San Francisco Choral Artists welcomes score submissions from composers. Before submitting your work, please review the following guidelines:

  1. Get to know the ensemble first. We encourage you to spend some time with the performance clips on our website and on our YouTube channel to get a sense of our repertoire, sound, and programming.

  2. We perform a cappella repertoire only. We are not currently considering works that require piano or other instruments.

  3. Works in the 3–5 minute range are most useful to us. Longer works may be submitted, but are less likely to fit our programming.

  4. Voicing: Please submit works for SATB choir, with or without divisi. Works for upper or lower voices alone are programmed only occasionally.

  5. Our concerts are carefully curated around specific themes. We welcome the opportunity to become acquainted with your work in general, but we are especially interested in pieces that might fit the programs we are currently planning.

2026–27 Concert Themes

December 2026 – OLD CHESTNUTS, RE-ROASTED
Pairing older and newer settings of the same melodies and texts.

March 2027 – OCEANS, RIVERS, AND TEARS
Music about water in its many forms.

June 2027 – MUSICIANS WRESTLE EVERYWHERE
Exploring composers’ fascination with writing music about music itself.

Please submit up to 3 scores through the form below rather than sending them directly to the Artistic Director or other members of the organization.

Because of the number of submissions we receive, we are unable to promise an individual response or evaluation. Submitted works may be considered for current or future programming.
